For over a thousand years, hardy Welsh Mountain sheep have grazed the rugged hills of Wales, with some of their ancient bloodlines believed to trace back to sheep introduced by Viking settlers. In the late 1800s, British shepherds crossed the resilient ewes with the elegant Bluefaced Leicester to create the Welsh Mule. This Welsh Mule Vegetarian Fleece is made using the freshly shorn wool rather than using a sheep’s skin. The wool locks are  onto a Merino wool backing using ancient wet-felting techniques. This piece features nature's own palette of soft ivory, warm cream, delicate oatmeal, with honey highlights that kiss the tips of the wool. Its softly curled wool brings warmth, texture, and character to any space, making it perfect for draping over a favourite chair, styling a bench, adding comfort to a reading nook, or creating a cozy accent anywhere in your home.
