Every Le Bosquet fleece is truly one of a kind.

Crafted from the wool of living sheep—never from the hide—our fleeces contain no skin or leather. Instead, the wool is carefully hand-felted to create a beautiful, cruelty-free piece that celebrates the natural beauty of the fibre.

Because every fleece is made from natural wool, you may occasionally notice tiny pieces of straw or hay woven into the fibres. These are simply a reminder of the sheep's natural environment and the handcrafted process that makes every fleece unique.

With proper care, your fleece will remain soft, beautiful, and naturally luxurious for many years to come.

Routine maintenance is simple and helps keep your fleece looking its best.

• Shake your fleece outdoors regularly to remove dust and loose debris.
• Never vacuum your fleece, as the suction can damage the natural locks and fibres.
• Do not machine wash or dry clean.
• If using your fleece as a rug, place a non-slip rug pad underneath to prevent movement.
• If using your fleece on a chair or bench, choose a low-traffic area to help preserve the natural texture and lock definition.
• When storing your fleece, use a breathable cotton or linen bag. Never store it in plastic, as wool needs to breathe.

Wool is naturally resistant to dirt and odours, so frequent washing is rarely necessary.

If your fleece does require cleaning, always hand wash only.

What You'll Need

• A basin or tub large enough to hold the fleece
• Lukewarm water (maximum 30°C / 86°F)
• A wool-safe detergent such as Eucalan® or another gentle wool wash

Important: Never use hot water. Heat can cause the wool to shrink and the beautiful locks to mat or felt together.

1. Prepare the Water

Fill your basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of wool-safe detergent.

2. Place the Fleece in the Water

Lay the fleece face down in the water.

3. Soak Gently

Allow the fleece to soak for 30–60 minutes.

Gently swish the water if needed, but never scrub, wring, or vigorously agitate the fleece.

4. Rinse

Drain the basin and rinse with clean, cool water.

Avoid excessive movement while rinsing.

5. Remove Excess Water

Never twist or wring the fleece.

Instead, gently fold or roll it onto itself and press lightly to remove excess moisture.

6. Dry Naturally

Lay the fleece flat on a clean towel or drying rack.

Allow it to air dry completely away from direct heat or sunlight.

Once fully dry, gently lift and separate any flattened locks with your fingers to restore their natural appearance.

To help preserve your fleece for years to come, avoid the following:
