Scarlet Curls Willow (Salix × 'Scarcuzam') is an exceptional ornamental willow prized for its striking twisted stems in vibrant shades of coral, scarlet, and deep red. The naturally corkscrew-shaped branches bring bold colour, movement, and architectural interest to the garden throughout the winter months, while also making outstanding fresh and dried cut branches for floral design and seasonal décor.
A fast-growing willow, 'Scarcuzam' develops into a large shrub or small tree with an upright habit and gracefully arching branches. It responds well to annual coppicing, producing an abundance of long, colourful stems that are ideal for harvesting. In spring, soft silvery catkins appear before the foliage, providing an early source of pollen for bees and other pollinators. Narrow green leaves follow, creating an attractive backdrop to the vividly coloured stems.
