If you're looking for a willow that makes a statement, 'Aquatica Gigantea Korso' delivers. Originally developed in Finland for biomass production, this exceptionally vigorous variety produces enormous, lush green leaves, thick sturdy rods, and impressive pink catkins that mature to soft silver before revealing golden pollen in early spring.
Very vigorous and tall-growing, 'Aquatica Gigantea Korso' is ideal for rapid biomass production and high-volume stem growth, particularly in exposed locations or large-scale plantings. Its rapid growth and strong stems also make it an outstanding choice for large living structures, living fences, screens, and coarse basketry.
Left to mature, it can develop into a sizeable tree, but annual coppicing encourages vigorous new rods that are perfect for weaving, garden projects, and renewable biomass production.
Whether you're creating living architecture, harvesting rods for larger weaving projects, establishing a windbreak, or simply looking for a striking ornamental willow with exceptional pollinator value, 'Aquatica Gigantea Korso' is a remarkable addition to any landscape.
